Steelpaint Wins Contract to Coat Winning International Bulk Carrier

Steelpaint GmbH secured a contract with Singapore-based Winning International Group to supply its two-coat polyurethane-zinc system for the cargo holds of the Winning Kindness, a 184,000 dwt capesize bulker. The coating will be applied during drydock in Zhoushan, China, in September 2025, covering tank tops and lower hopper structures in corrosion-prone areas.
The agreement marks the first formal collaboration between the two companies and expands Steelpaint’s presence among Asian shipowners. According to Steelpaint Director Frank Müller, the contract reflects growing demand for coatings that reduce lifecycle costs and extend vessel service life.
The Stelpant coating was selected after a successful test patch on Winning Rich and demonstrated long-term corrosion protection during 17 months of service in similar conditions. Steelpaint will also supply onboard maintenance coats for crew touch-ups. A Winning superintendent cited the system’s wear resistance and strong performance in previous trials.
The deal follows another recent order from a major bulk carrier operator for 20 vessels using the same system.
